Corn has always been and always will be one of my favorites. The texture, the butter the saltiness and the fact that you can roll up your sleeves and get right to it makes it all the better. I have several ways I enjoy cooking corn but this recipe is perfect for those who love simplicity and a nice kick of flavor.
HERES WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO MAKE IT
4-6 ears of corn (husk and skin removed)
1 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp sugar
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 cup milk
1 stick unsalted butter - adjust to taste
1 1/2 Tbsp old bay seasoning
1 tsp salt - adjust to taste
1 tsp pepper - adjust to taste
HERES EASY STEPS TO MAKE IT
STEP 1 - Fill a large pot just over half full of water and bring to a boil. Stir in lemon juice, garlic, sugar and add a bay leaf while dissolving the sugar. Add milk, butter, old bay seasoning and stir till butter melts.
STEP 2 - Place corn into boiling water, cover the pot, continue to boil for 5 minutes and then simmer on low heat for 20 minutes or until tender.
STEP 3 - Serve and enjoy delicious sweet, seasoned buttery corn! (top of with salt and pepper to taste)
TIP: Add color with a garnish of fresh parsley.
